Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic - The Clinic the Pros Trust

When F. James Funk, M.D. started the practice in 1953, sports medicine was not yet a recognized specialty. However, Dr. Funk had an avid interest in sports and was a founding member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). He served as the first team physician when the Atlanta Falcons joined the NFL in 1965 as an expansion team.

Through the years, Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic physicians have shaped the art and science of sports medicine, and professional athletes based in Atlanta and beyond have continued to trust the clinic with their care.

Hawks Update: Atlanta Hawk Al Horford Undergoes Successful Surgery

On January 17, Al Horford had successful surgery to repair his torn left pectoral muscle, according to Atlanta Hawks Executive Vice President/General Manager Rick Sund. Dr. Xavier Duralde of Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic performed the surgery, assisted by Hawks team physicians Dr. Michael Bernot and Dr. Ashok Reddy. Horford suffered the injury midway through the first quarter at Indiana on January 11. He is expected to miss three-to-four months of action.

Congratulations to the Atlanta Hawks

Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic (POC) would like to congratulate the Atlanta Hawks on a great 2011 season.

After beating the Orlando Magic in the opening round, the Hawks had an impressive run in the playoffs. In game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Hawks shocked the top-seeded Chicago Bulls with a 103-95 win. The series was tied 2-2 but the Hawks playoff run came to an end with a game 6 loss.

The clinic would also like to congratulate the POC physicians Michael P. Bernot, M.D., and Ashok S. Reddy, M.D., who worked with the Hawks players and staff throughout this season.

PGA Championship

Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic provided medical coverage for the 2011 PGA Championship Golf Tournament as well as the Tour Championship Golf Tournament.
