Ashok S. Reddy, MD




Introduction


Dr. Reddy joined Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic in 1998. His practice includes athletic injuries to the knee and shoulder, as well as general orthopaedic surgery and trauma. He has a special interest in arthroscopic surgical treatment of knee ligament, meniscus and cartilage injuries, as well as arthritis and total joint replacement. His interests in the shoulder include arthroscopic rotator cuff and labral repairs, treatment of instability and frozen shoulder.

Interests include athletic and industrial injuries to the knee and shoulder, arthroscopy, as well as general orthopaedic surgery and trauma.


Education and Training


Dr. Reddy earned his B.S. (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) in 1988 and his M.D. in 1992, both from Duke University. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and was honored with the Sports Medicine Resident of the Year Award for 1994-1995. He performed a prestigious fellowship at one of the top sports medicine facilities in the country, the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California, where he helped provide care for most of the Los Angeles and Anaheim professional sports teams.

Dr. Reddy has been the assistant Team Physician for the Atlanta Hawks since 1999 and is a member of the NBA Team Physicians' Society. He also serves as team physician for Holy Innocents' Episcopal School. Dr. Reddy served on the Medical Staff (baseball) during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. He served as Assistant Team Orthopaedist for the Atlanta Falcons from 1999-2004.

Dr. Reddy has written several articles published in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals. Locally, he has been a speaker for the Northside Hospital community education series and for POC's biannual "Office Orthopaedics" course for primary care physicians. He has also served as Course Director and speaker for POC's "Current Concepts in Sports Medicine" course for physical therapists and athletic trainers.

Dr. Reddy is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. He is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Reddy currently serves as President of the Atlanta Orthopaedic Society, an organization founded in 1964 that is dedicated to helping Atlanta-based orthopaedists provide quality care to their patients and lead rewarding professional lives.
