Hal Silcox, III, MD




Introduction


Dr. Silcox is native to Atlanta, having been born at Piedmont Hospital, but chiefly he grew up in Gainesville, Georgia.

Dr. Silcox joined Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic in March 2001 after practicing at The Emory Clinic and The Emory Spine Center for nine years. While at Emory, Dr. Silcox served on the faculty of the Emory University School of Medicine. Part of his faculty appointment was serving as Chief of the Spine Surgery Service at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and as the Resident/Spine Surgery Fellowship education coordinator for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Silcox has authored numerous peer-reviewed research publications primarily focused on topics relating to spine surgery and spinal disorders. He is the author of six book chapters. He has served on the faculty of over five dozen continuing medical education courses. He has been the principal investigator in the state of Georgia for two FDA investigational device exemption studies, and has participated in several other FDA and NIH studies. He continues to be active in clinical research and spine surgery device development and currently serves as President of the Georgia Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Silcox is married and has two children. He enjoys serving in his church as well as serving as a coach and Boy Scout leader. Additionally he has previously volunteered his time to serve as a physician for the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games as well as various local college and professional sports.

These forms can be completed prior to a new patient visit to assist in their evaluation. However, please note that only one body part (either lumbar or cervical) will be examined at the initial visit so that a definitive plan of treatment can be targeted to the patient’s area of greatest pain.


Dr. Silcox also performs Independent Medical Evaluations that may be scheduled directly with his staff at 404-425-1015.
